When Structure Starts to Slow You Down

Written by Rose Posted in Weight Loss on Monday, 06 March 2017.

“Just tell me what to eat, and I’ll eat it.”  The overused line we all use when we are ready to diet and sick and tired of being sick and tired.  It simplifies things and provides structure and is the true test of self-discipline.

Change Your Mindset: Change Your Results

A few years ago, I was in an appointment with a client and she wanted to show me something on her phone.  As she touched it, I noticed that her backdrop screen was a picture of healthy vegetables and I commented on her having such a great photo to look at often.  This lead to a conversation about “the power of suggestion” and how it is either our best friend or worst enemy and that has inspired me to share my thoughts with you.

The Truth About Gluten

It took 12 long years. 12 years of stomach pain after meals, 12 years of questions, 12 years before she could understand what was going on with her body. After 12 years celiac disease was the answer.

My story of how changing my diet has changed my life

Last summer was rough…both mentally and physically.  I was struggling with non-stop, pounding headaches, stomach aches, anxiety, and I just felt sick all day long.  While I hated laying on the couch all day, the hardest part was knowing that each day I was falling further and further behind in gymnastics.  At the age of eleven, I lived and breathed for the sport of gymnastics.  Unfortunately, my health was going downhill and I felt completely helpless.  Summer plans were being canceled because I was too weak to do anything.  Not only was I falling further and further behind at the gym, my attitude and fears were worsening and as soon as school started, I couldn’t keep up and focus on academics either.  Nothing was going well and it seemed that doctors were even stumped.  I had already found my gluten allergy and had been gluten-free for three years.  I couldn’t have even imagined that my gluten-free diet wasn’t strict enough.

Are you overweight because you eat too little?

Are you overweight because you don’t eat enough?

Coffee is breakfast?  You skimp through lunch.  Then you realize about 4:00 that you are starving!!!  A quick reminder to yourself that you haven’t eaten anything all day and this, therefore, is the justification for making a less than healthy option.  Really…who wants a salad when they are starving?
